Will Mumbai become the largest city in the world?

Here you see the Mumbai skyline, taped from a high-rise on Walkeshwar Road on Malabar Hill. You can see Marine Drive and Chowpatty Beach, two of the most important places of the largest city of India.

Mumbai has been growing spectacular for the past few decades. Millions of people moved from the countryside to the suburbs of Mumbai. This brought enough labor to Mumbai to finance the building of new business districts, shopping malls and residential towers.

Mumbai is now said to host a population of at least 15 million, but official numers are likely to modest. Some observers believe that Mumbai already has past the 20 million mark. If Mumbai will stick to the current growth rate, Mumbai might be the largest city in the world within no more than ten years.
