Earlier this year we had the opportunity to visit the famous Milan Cathedral. The Milan Cathedral is a building of amazing beauty and size. With 14.000 square yards, the Milan cathedral is the third largest cathedral in the world.

The Milan cathedral was designed to host no less than 40.000 worshippers. It is known for its remarkable facade and the thousands of pinnacles and statues that are placed at the sides of the roof. Of course, as in every cathedral one can visit the interior and climb parts of the exterior. But the Milan Cathedral has one unique feature that makes it different from all other cathedrals in the world. The management of the Milan Cathedral lets you actually walk on the roof of the cathedral. Walking on the roof of such a prestigious historical monument is such a special experience you should make sure you don’t miss it when you visit Milan. We think this situation is not here for eternity. Perhaps there comes a day when the city of Milan decides that tourist no longer may walk the roof of the famous Milan Cathedral.
